Why Video Game Dialog is Bad
* Characters don't speak naturally.
* Scenes are loaded with exposition. Leave the backstory for the wiki.
* Dialog is too pristine, too polished. Sometimes characters should NOT chose the perfect response.
(NOTE I've also seen the opposite though, where characters are completely informal in a setting where they should and would be speaking with greater formality. The key is not confusing the characters intent to be formal, with their ability to speak flawlessly )
* Characters only have "big flaws". Characters only have universe threatening flaws. No one has simple flaws like they are lazy, messy, unhealthy, or vulgar.
